AVS Film Productions
After a successful innings in leading film studios in the country (Eros Intl and Zee Studios) and Netflix India, Abhishek Vyas formed AVS Films Productions LLC in Dubai in a JV with the Royal Office of HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Faisal Al Qassimi.
To produce 20 films and 5 web series in the next 3 to 4 years in 6 Indian languages (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Punjabi) with one of the best talent.
AVS will also focus on developing and producing content for the big broadcasters in the MENA region.
With an aim to expand portfolio in the entertainment space, AVS will also conceptualise and execute music concerts and other events which will strengthen the bond between India and UAE by with engaging top talent from from both countries.
Mr. Abhishek Vyas
Born in the year 1988 and raised in the Indian city of Indore in Madhya Pradesh, Abhishek Vyas’s journey to Tinseltown and carving out a place for himself is a story rooted in his deep love for Cinema and business acumen. A National Champion in Squash, Vyas was well aware of the fruits of perseverance and passion, something that he imbibed as an avid sportsman since childhood
Professional sports however had to take a backseat as Vyas discovered his true calling when he joined the famous television industry in India. From 2011 to 2015 he sharpened his skills in the business of storytelling, while working for the biggest youth television channel of the largest network in India. With a penchant to deeply understand the industries he works in and its business model, Vyas’s next step towards his professional growth was the decision to move from television to movies.
Eros India’s Trinity Pictures was a young and upcoming studio, and Vyas was the perfect fit for it. From strategizing and creating the film slate for two consecutive years and signing the biggest storytellers in India, Vyas delivered on his vision to make a mark in the industry. From 2015-2017, Eros had a golden run and Vyas put together some of the biggest hits from the production house as a supervising producer. Films like NH10, Badlapur, Tanu weds Manu Returns, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Bajirao Mastani were the biggest hits of 2015, 2016 and 2017 making billions of rupees in India and abroad
His next stint was working for Zee Studios as their Head Producer. As one of the biggest studios in India, Zee Studios made films in every state of the country, and Vyas ensured a profitable run for the studio. Mega budget projects were produced under his supervision which made big profits at the box office and won multiple awards in various national and international competitions. Films like Manikarnika, Kesari, Good Newz,Parmanu, Gunjan Saxena were loved by both critics and fans.
The pandemic changed how media business functioned globally and audience viewing habits. In 2020, Abhishek moved to Netflix as the Head of Acquisition for the biggest Indian film markets, namely, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. In a year, the mega acquisitions that Netflix did were its biggest blockbusters for the year 20-21. Raat Akeli Hain, Ludo, Dhamaka, Haseen Dilruba and Serious Men were some of his acquisitions and productions and made to the global top 10 list of Netflix
Vyas brings with him over eleven years of rich experience in the Indian Film & Television industry, and an extensive repertoire that exhibit his domain expertise across platforms and formats. His deep understanding of films, content, production, technical knowledge and intricacies of the Indian film market makes him a leader in the domain of content creation. An expert in his craft, he is someone not restricted by boundaries and has successfully managed film projects of not just Bollywood, but Hollywood too.
With a strong legacy of over a decade in production, he has cultivated and curated films that have created an impact both in terms business, as well as on the minds and hearts of the audience. Looking at the vast opportunity in the content business in India, Vyas ventured out and started his own content studio based out of Dubai in collaboration with the Royal Office HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Faisal Al Qassimi in 2022, which will now produce a lot of quality content in multiple languages in the Indian sub-continent.
